What Are Sea Ganoderma Used For?
Sea Ganoderma aren’t used for much, so don’t feel bad if you were unaware of their importance. They aren’t used in any crafting recipes at all, but three characters use them for their ascensions: Kazuha, Yae Miko, and Mizuki.
If you’re not running any of these three characters, you don’t need to worry about Sea Ganoderma. But if you’re planning to use any of them long-term, finding Sea Ganoderma becomes absolutely crucial.
You will need to acquire 168 Sea Ganoderm to ascend just ONE of those characters to their maximum level, so let’s dive into where you can find them!
Discovering Sea Ganoderma Locations
Sea Ganoderma have appeared in different places across Teyvat during previous versions of the game. In the latest update, you can find Sea Ganoderma scattered across the oceanic region of Inazuma, a beautiful group of islands covered in beaches and tide pools.
Pro Tip: You’ll have to be at least level 30 to reach Inazuma, so don’t spend your time trying if you’re not that far along yet!
There is one important thing to remember about finding Sea Ganoderma, though. They count as a ‘Local Specialty’ item, which means each location can only be harvested once every 48 hours.
To scout the locations, let’s take a look at the map of Teyvat. According to the official HoYoverse interactive map, there are 159 Sea Ganoderma locations scattered around Inazuma. Some online sources list other numbers, but it’s probably best to stick with the official count.
The distribution isn’t always obvious at this scale, so here’s a quick overview of the island names and their concentration of Sea Ganoderma locations.

How to Harvest Sea Ganoderma Quickly
The fastest way to get the 168 you need for a character ascension is by visiting every island, but even then, you may have to wait a little to collect enough for a full character ascension.
Since you can’t rely on NPC gifts over and over again, you may want to focus your efforts on getting the most Sea Ganoderma in the least amount of time. Of course, if you prefer to take your time and enjoy the scenery, who could blame you?
Fortunately, Inazuma is filled with plenty of teleport points! Once you’ve explored it for the first time, it should be fairly easy to island-hop from point to point until you find as many Sea Ganoderma locations as you need.
Here’s a quick method you can use to visit all the islands as fast as possible, but everyone has their own ideas.
You can start on Watatsumi Island by speaking to Mirai and grabbing your four free Sea Ganoderma, then go north for a minute to pick up any nearby. Then head south again and begin to circle the island in a clockwise direction to grab all 24 along the coastline.
Bourou Village and Watatsumi Island
Yashiori Island is next, with only two Sea Ganoderma location groupings at either end. Move on from that island over to Kannazuka, paying close attention to the north shore. Kannazuka has the largest number of Sea Ganoderma locations, so don’t skip this one!

Next, head over to Narukami Island in the northeast corner of Inazuma to collect all those Sea Ganoderma, but you may not want to spend too long heading out to the outlying regions if you’re in a hurry. It’s your call!
Then it’s time to head south to Serai Island, which has a high concentration of Sea Ganoderma locations.
The last big location is Tsurumi Island, down at the southern tip of the Inazuma region.
After that, there are only 4 locations left on the small, unnamed central islands in the middle of the archipelago.
