Fans have always loved Minecraft for its blocky visual style, so any changes to the unique Minecraft aesthetic are a big risk for developer Mojang Studios. The recent Vibrant Visuals pack made a lot of changes to the classic look, but fans are already praising Mojang for successfully modernizing the Minecraft engine while staying true to the original style.

How to Spot the Creeper Easter Egg
Humans have always stared upwards and seen shapes in the clouds, so you could be forgiven for thinking you were imagining a giant Creeper face in the Minecraft sky. But it’s not your imagination – it’s really there!
As part of the overhauled cloud system in the Vibrant Visuals pack, a giant Creeper face will occasionally appear in the sky at random points throughout each world. All you have to do is stop for a second to admire the impressive new visuals, and you might just find yourself staring at a giant Creeper!
Here’s an example screenshot of the Creeper secret easter egg in the Vibrant Visuals pack:
The cloud versions stay true to the original style of the Creeper mob, but you’ll only be able to spot the eyes and the mouth. The rest of the Creeper’s classic body shape is not visible. In case you’re not sure what you’re looking for, here’s what the original Creeper face looks like:
If you do a quick comparison between the two pictures above, you’ll quickly be able to spot the Creeper face in the clouds once you know what you’re looking for! Mojang stayed perfectly true to the original pixel size, so keep your eyes on the skies!
The Creeper has been one of the most beloved mobs in the game since it was added back in 2009, when it was initially intended to be a pig model. The model wasn’t considered a success as a pig, but Notch decided to keep it part of the game because it was so creepy. So the legend was born!
Since then, people have fallen in love with the Creeper, and you can even get cute little stuffed Creeper toys! Mojang made a good choice in selecting the Creeper face as their new easter egg, sharing their love of the creepy mob with fans who’ve been part of Minecraft since the beginning – and delighting new fans, too!
Tips for Spotting the Creeper Face Easter Egg
The Creeper face easter egg appears randomly in the clouds, so there’s no way to guarantee that you’ll spot it – but there are a couple of settings you can tweak to improve your chances.
Launch Minecraft, then open the Settings menu and switch to the Video section to adjust these settings:
- Increase render distance. This option in the Minecraft settings controls how far into the distance clouds will appear. If you increase the setting to maximum, you’ll have a better chance of spotting the Creeper face in the clouds, since there are more visible!
In the Advanced video settings:
- Set your FOV to ‘Quake Pro’. A wider field of view will allow you to see more of the sky at once, so you can scan the skies faster to spot the Creeper easter egg.
Are there other Easter Eggs in Vibrant Visuals?
No, there are no other easter eggs included in the Vibrant Visuals pack. Mojang Studios regularly adds seasonal easter eggs for Halloween and Christmas, special rabbit skins, Pirate Speak, and deadmau5 ears, but there are way too many to list here.
Unfortunately, they seem to have decided not to include additional secrets in this update.
What Else Is New in the Vibrant Visuals Pack?
The Vibrant Visuals pack is a massive update for Minecraft’s underlying game engine, bringing it into the modern era of next-generation graphics while keeping the classic pixelated Minecraft look.
To pull off this careful balancing act, Mojang added directional lighting, volumetric fog, screenspace reflections, and infinite clouds, with a Minecraft twist. When the new directional lighting system casts a shadow, the shadow itself is pixelated and locked to the block grid to keep the same style.
It’s worth pointing out that the Vibrant Visuals pack doesn’t actually change your Minecraft gameplay at all. It’s purely a cosmetic update that enhances the way the world looks to you on your device.
While some players might wish for more changes, it means that everyone can still play in the same servers, whether they’re using the Vibrant Visuals pack or not. That level of cross-compatibility is a nice touch, considering how many different versions of Minecraft there are!
Is Vibrant Visuals Available for All Minecraft Editions?
No, the Vibrant Visuals update is not available for all Minecraft editions – at least, not yet. It is currently only available for the Bedrock Edition of Minecraft. Mojang is already working on bringing the new visual updates to the Java Edition and Minecraft editions on other devices.
If you want to see everything that Vibrant Visuals has to offer, you’ll probably need more coins to experience it all. The U7BUY store has Hypixel Skyblock coins available at affordable prices, so you don’t have to spend all your time grinding mobs to earn them.
Spend all your time admiring the new update instead – and don’t forget to keep an eye on the sky for the next Creeper face!
