So that means you’ve got ample time to conquer the unforgiving wastelands, check out all the stuff added in the new Fortnite update, and earn everything on the Battle Pass before it’s gone!

Speaking of new stuff, here’s a breakdown of some of the most important new swag to earn and gameplay mechanics you should be aware of!

What’s New in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3?

Brand New Locales

The island has been overrun by a ferocious sandstorm and has a new biome in the south aptly named the ‘Wasteland’. And with the brand new biome, you’ll also find menacing bosses who’ve staked their claim to the sandy dunes.

This time around, three new locales have been added to the southernmost tip of the map. And in the new season of Fortnite, you can expect these three spots to be a hotbed of players dropping in. Proceed at your own peril!

Redline Rig

Run by the Wasteland Warrior’s maestro mechanic, The Machinist, the Redline Rig is the premier spot for the manufacturing of the latest ‘drug’ (okay fine, not really), Nitro. Of the three new spots to check out in the Wasteland, it’s the least menacing, but don’t let your guard down for a second lest you fancy a wrench to the dome.

Nitrodome

The Nitrodome is an insane and menacing battleground for your beastly machines run by the flamboyant Ringmaster Scarr. Fancy a round of Death Race zooming across this deadly arena in your new ride?

Brutal Beachhead

And lastly, head on over to ‘Brutal Beachhead’ to find the Wasteland Warrior’s crown jewel of the Wasteland; a torn-up battleship with an eerie and ominous shark-like bow. Here you’ll find the Megalo Don, the mastermind behind the Wasteland Warriors.

Take on The Wasteland Warriors

We’ve mentioned the Wasteland Warriors’ new spots above, but who are they, really? Here’s a breakdown of what the three new bosses in Fortnite bring to the table, including what loot you can find in their respective locales & drops!

The Machinist

While The Machinist is far from being the most deadly of the bunch, you shouldn’t take her too lightly. If you manage to take her down deep within the Redline Rig though, you can pick up The Machinist’s Medallion which will regen your shields passively over time!

Plus, defeating The Machinist will get you access to her pimped-out ride and a Mythic version of The Machinist’s Combat Assault Rifle.

Ringmaster Scarr

Probably the most ostentatious villain of the bunch, Ringmaster Scarr dons a Hyena helmet and is as deadly as she looks. Defeating Ringmaster Scarr will award you her Medallion which provides infinite ammo + a damage buff.

Using the Medallion, you can open her garage to claim her sweet death machine for yourself to cruise through the island, pimped out with a machine gun turret! Plus, she’ll also drop a Mythic version of one of the most sought-after weapons this season, the Ringmaster’s Boom Bolt!

Megalo Don

And lastly, we’ve got the big dawg of the Wasteland Warriors (or alpha shark), Megalo Don. While he doesn’t have the most creative name, he packs a heavy punch. Besting Megalo Don will award players his Medallion which has the special effect of infinite Nitro!

Nitro is sure to be a game-changing consumable this season, so his Medallion is one of the top ones to go after every match. Additionally, you’ll also get access to his souped-up SUV w/ a rooftop rocket launcher and a Mythic Megalo Don’s Nitro Fists.

The good news is if you fancy any of the new Wasteland Warriors’ skins, you can earn them in the Battle Pass provided you’ve got the V Bucks to spend!

How Medallions Work

You should probably know that having a Medallion in your inventory will mark you on enemy players’ maps.

Plus, the more Medallions you have, the more precise the tracking is. So if you’re hunting down Medallions, just keep in mind that others are probably hunting you down too.

Go Nitro on Em’ Fools!

We’ve mentioned ‘Nitro’ a couple of times already but if you haven’t checked out Fortnite Season 3, you might be out of the loop. Across the island, you’ll find Nitro Splash & Nitro Barrels.

Nitro Barrels are containers you can run over while in a car to ‘Nitro-fy’ yourself. Whereas Nitro Splash is a portable consumable item that you can use to ‘Nitro-fy’. While under the effects of Nitro, you’ll receive the following effects:

Nitro-fied Car

  • Increased driving speed
  • Attack mod buffs
  • Lower fuel consumption
  • Enhanced ramming power, dealing damage & knockback at high speeds

Nitro-fied Player

  • Increased movement speed
  • Enhanced ‘bashing’ power dealing damage & knockback (literally running through walls)
  • Longer sprints & decreased stamina consumption
  • Increased reload speed
  • Immune to fall damage

Vehicular Combat

The new Fortnite Season 3 is all about eliminating everyone in sight while cruising through the island in death machines to live out your Mad Max fantasies. The techno-punk-inspired Fortnite new season has all matter of death-inducing weaponry & vehicle mods including:

  • (Rooftop) Machine gun turret
  • (Rooftop) Grenade launcher turret
  • (Front Bumper) Spiked bumper for increased damage
  • (Front Bumper) Cow Catcher for defensive buffs + increased ramming power
  • (Tires) Bulletproof tires (literally indestructible)
  • (Tires) Chonkers Off-Road tires

A Brand-New Arsenal of Death Bringers (Weapons)

And with a Fortnite new season, you can expect some fantastic new weaponry to try out. In particular, there are two brand-new weapons entering the Fortnite arsenal including the Boom Bolt crossbow and Nitro Fists gauntlets.

Boom Bolt

Need a way of handling souped-up cars with a full arsenal of mods on foot? The Boom Bolt is a fully moddable fast-firing crossbow that fires explosive bolts. They’re incredible damage dealers and will take down any vehicle you come across in the Wasteland.

Nitro Fists

As the name suggests, the Nitro Fists are two powerful gauntlets powered by ‘Nitro’ and are the best way to handle close-range 1v1 encounters. With a 3x combo, an aerial punch, and a high-flying uppercut, it’s also one of the most maneuverable melee weapons in Fortnite to date.

Imagine Doomfist from Overwatch but on steroids.

Besides the two new weapons, you’ll also find plenty of weapons out of Fortnite’s vault including some of last season’s guns carried over to Chapter 5 Season 3 of Fortnite.

And that’s not all! There are plenty of new additions and quality-of-life updates to discover in the latest Fortnite season so get to it, friends! For more Fortnite Guide to master the craft of earning Victory Royales, check out our blog on U7BUY!
