Best F2P Guide For Genshin Impact

This is not a guide for people who use Genshin Impact top up services in any way, form, or capacity. This is meant to be a guide for those who do not want or can’t pay a single dime for Genshin Impact in order to enjoy it. This is for people who want to enjoy Genshin Impact without spending money, and potentially challenge themselves to see how far they can go and what they can do with ONLY the free things that the game gives you.

The Harsh Realities F2P Gamers Need to Face

We’re putting this up first because there are some major drawbacks that people who go Free-To-Play entirely (No battle pass, no monthly Blessing of the Welkin Moon) need to understand.

Banner-Skipping

There will come times when you will need to/want to skip an entire banner or maybe even two. That means going without pulling anything for 20-40 days at a time in order to finally be able to get that Genshin Impact character who is either “meta” or that you simply really like.

Pulling Genshin Impact Characters That You Like

Tieing into the last section, pulling for characters Genshin that you like might not be smart or advised. Why? Because many Genshin characters are simply “bad”, or rather “Much worse” than most other Genshin Impact characters.

Now, here’s the deal – You can use “most” teams and Genshin Impact characters to clear all of the content in the game, even Spiral Abyss. However, there are characters like Itto or Xiao who need full teams based around them to really work, and then there are Genshin characters like Neuvilette or Arlecchino who can clear most content practically on their own merit. People have cleared the full 9-12 Spiral Abyss with JUST Neuvilette.

To simulate that same kind of power with Itto, for example, you would need Itto, Red-Horned Stonethresher (His Weapon), Gorou C6, Bennett, and Chiori. And pulling for all of that compared to a single Genshin Impact character is quite costly, and can “ruin” your account.

Of course, if you don’t like this fact – you can always find a cheap Genshin Impact account to buy that already has your favorite characters Genshin Impact.

Genshin Impact Characters you might want to focus on

We’ve talked about these characters Genshin quite a few times by now in our other guides, but there are a few really amazing F2P-friendly 4-Star characters/Teams you can build that won’t cost you an arm and a leg, and won’t require “perfect” Artifacts to work.

The main team is the Xianling National, obviously. This team consists purely of 4-star characters Genshin Impact that most players will probably have, and Xiangling is entirely F2P since you get her from clearing a few floors of the Spiral Abyss.

  • Xiangling – Amazing Pyro Polearm Genshin Impact character that still tops DPS charts to this day
  • Xingqiu – aside from Furina/Yelan, who are both 5-Star Genshin characters, Xingqiu is the best hydro-applicator and off-field damage dealer you can get
  • Sucrose – Best Anemo Support after Kazuha. Can shred enemy resistances and has large AOE abilities that can be used to CC and gather enemies.
  • Bennett – Still one of the strongest overall supports in the game who is used in many S-Tier team comps.

All of the above Genshin Impact characters can work with F2P weapons and don’t require a lot of investment. Xiangling uses “The Catch”, a polearm that you get from Fishing. Xingqiu needs either a Favonius Sword or a Sacrificial Sword (Sacri is better), Sucrose – Sacrificial Fragments/Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers (An amazing 3-Star Catalyst), and finally – Benny boy, who can use practically whatever, but the higher the base attack of the weapon, the better.

Spend Resin Wisely

Don’t over-focus on characters Genshin Impact, talents, and artifacts. Sometimes it’s enough to just have the current main stats on Artifacts and for most Genshin Impact characters, you will only want to level 1 most important ability, be it their Burst (Xingqiu), their Normal Attack (Characters like Xiao/Itto/Cyno), or their Elemental Skill (Kuki Shinobu). Resin is a valuable resource, and you don’t need to focus too much on spending it all for maxing one Genshin character because in reality, having a team of characters Genshin that are at 80% is better than having one character at 100% with other three at 30%, if that makes sense.

Just as a little FYI – Most Genshin Impact characters’ abilities get almost twice as stronger when you level them up to 8-10, meaning that along with having decent 4-Star Weapons and Artifact Sets that have good main stats, Talents are the best way to get stronger in the game.

Do Daily Artifact/Weapon/Mining Runs

We can’t go too in-depth here, but there are guides online that focus on these “Runs” that can be done daily. What you can get through these is:

  • A lot of Artifact/Weapon Experience in the form of white and green items
  • A lot of mora
  • A lot of Ore that you will need to craft additional weapon experience items

By being F2P, you’re missing out on a lot of stuff that the paid battle pass gives you, and doing these three things daily (Which will usually take about an hour or two total) can help circumvent that issue.

Conclusion

Doing everything above, you should be able to create a strong F2P account, even without all of the advantages that so-called “Dolphins” (People who spend very little money on the game) have with the Battle Pass and Welkin Moon.
