What Are Goblin Workers?
Goblin Workers contain two types which are the Goblin Builders and the Goblin Researchers. Goblin Researchers are in charge of upgrading anything inside of the Laboratory while the Goblin Workers can upgrade pretty much anything else in your village. These workers are best used whenever your other workers are busy or not available.
The main gimmick of the Goblin Workers is that whenever your other regular villager workers are busy or on cooldown, then the Clash of Clans Goblin Workers can take over. The only catch is that Goblin Workers will cost you some gems as well as the resources required for the upgrade or build. This can make them more expensive depending on how many gems you have since the regular workers only cost the resources and coins.
There is also the chance that the cost for a building or upgrade to be done instantly is cheaper than what it would cost for the Clash of Clans Goblin Workers to build it. If so, you will also be prompted to choose to build instantly instead of hiring the workers. It is recommended to always take that option to save yourself time and use the extra gems for another build for your Clash of Clans Goblin Workers.
What Does the Goblin Builder Do?
Clash of Clans Goblin Builders can do everything a regular village builder can. This not only includes being able to upgrade or make buildings but also remove obstacles like trees and stones as well as using a Forge slot. They can even perform upgrades for your Heroes which makes them incredibly versatile.
When trying to use the Goblin Builder, they will still need the corresponding resources to upgrade or create buildings. Since all Goblin Workers require gems to be put to work, the game will also offer to simply buy the resources you don’t have with a bit more gems. However, it is best to always have your resources ready so that you can use those gems for more COC upgrades or actions in the future. Best to wait while you can for your other builders in this case.
Another key feature of the Goblin Builder is how it works with the hammer tool. If the player decides to use the hammer tool to select a building to instantly upgrade it with no other builder, then they will need to either wait for one to become available or use a Goblin Builder with some extra COC gems as well.
The average cost of a Goblin Worker per day is about 40 gems in total. However, certain seasonal events may have some buffs that will decrease this amount throughout the time of the event in question. Builder potions can also work on Clash of Clans Goblin Builders to make your building time more efficient than it would with a regular worker.
How to Unlock the Goblin Builder?
Unlocking the Goblin Workers and therefore the Goblin Builder is pretty simple on paper but will take a lot of grinding and time to get. They also aren’t around all the time either as they only show up during the “Work for Hire!” event. But you can’t just wait around for this event to pop up for you to get the Goblins. It’s not that simple.
First, you will need to have your Town Hall at least at level 7 or higher. This will take quite a while to build up to if you are a newer player, but patience and dedication are always key. Keep gathering resources and expanding your village to help meet the criteria to level up. Performing raids on other players’ villages can also help speed up this process in the early game.
The next step that you will likely take as you reach level 7 on your Town Hall is to have all 5 Builder’s Huts in your village built and working. This is to not only ensure maximum efficiency as you build and expand your village power but to do so even more with your Clash of Clans Goblin Workers. As you get later into the game, building times will become crucial which will make the Goblin Builder in specific much more rewarding and useful to you compared to in the beginning.
If you do plan to check off all these criteria as a newer player, be sure to also stock up on as many gems as you possibly can. Goblin Workers will cost you gems and lots of them if you plan to hire them consistently. This is not to mention how much more expensive buildings and upgrades become around the later game too. It’ll become much harder to expand the longer you play, but saving up your gems and being patient with your building times will help with this tremendously.
The Event is Happening Now?!
As of June of 2024, the “Work for Hire” event is currently happening! This event will run until June 30th to then be repeated next year. If you are a veteran player, you are probably already eligible to use the Clash of Clans Goblin Workers including the Builder. However, newer players may need to take their time and wait until next year, but they will be able to enjoy the fruits of their labor with these Goblins by their side.
