What Is Fortnite Ballistic and How to Play It?

Fortnite Ballistic

Fortnite Ballistic is a 5v5 tactical, first-person shooter game mode. You can either choose the unranked mode for casual gameplay or choose ranked to play alongside similarly skilled players.

If you’ve played CSGO, Valorant, or the “search and destroy” game mode in other games, you will easily pick up Ballistic.

For people who haven’t experienced any of those games, here is how Fortnite Ballistic works:

The game has two teams: attackers and defenders. There are two bomb sites: A and B.

Attackers:

  • Objective: Plant the bomb (Rift Point Device) at either bombsite and defend it until it explodes to win the round.
  • Alternative Win Condition: Eliminate all defenders.

Defenders:

  • Objective: Prevent attackers from planting the bomb by defending the bomb sites.
  • Win Conditions: Eliminate all attackers before the bomb is planted. Defuse the bomb if it has been planted.

The first team to secure 7 rounds wins the game.

Just like in most SnD scenarios, you will switch sides during halftime. Simply put, if you played the first half as attackers, you must play the second half as defenders, and vice versa.

Fortnite Ballistic: Credits, Gadgets, Consumables, and Weapons

Fortnite Ballistic

The currency in Fortnite Ballistic game mode is called credits, and you need these credits to purchase gadgets, consumables, weapons, and even shields.

All the skins, emotes, and weapon wraps in your account will also work in Fortnite Ballistic. So, get your cheap vbucks recharge from here to purchase your favorite skins.

The amount of credits you gain for each round depends on multiple factors like win or lose, win by elimination, win by detonation, and more. You can find this in more detail at the bottom-right of the buy-menu.

Pro tip: It is essential to manage your economy to have enough credits to purchase when required. Force buying every round even after continuously losing is a bad way to manage your economy.

This game has five special consumables, called “Flex Gadgets.” Every player must choose one gadget at the beginning of the match. This gadget will be available in your buy menu for the rest of the game.

Note: Each player can choose only one type of Flex Gadget. Be quick in deciding which gadget type you want, as there’s no room for multiple gadgets.

Fortnite Ballistic: Flex Gadgets

Frag Grenade (300 Credits): A simple throwable grenade that deals damage.

Bubble Shield (300 Credits): Creates a temporary shield that protects you from enemy fire.

Proximity Mine (300 Credits): Place to detect and damage enemies when they come closer to this gadget.

Impulse Grenade (300 Credits): Launch a player; it is the same as the impulse grenade from BR.

Recon Grenade (300 Credits): A throwable nade that scans and reveals enemies in an area.

Fortnite Ballistic: Consumables

There are two common consumables and shields—every player can purchase them:

Flashbang (200 Credits): A throwable nade that blinds and deafens enemies. It also affects you and your allies.

Smoke Grenade (200 Credits): A throwable nade that creates thick smoke to deny the enemy team’s vision.

Instant Shield (500 Credits): Provides 25 shield points. Stays until depleted or until you get eliminated. You can purchase this twice for 50 shield points.

Fortnite Ballistic: List of Weapons

In Fortnite Ballistic, weapons are divided into four categories: shotguns, SMGs, rifles, and ranged.

Shotguns:

  • Frenzy Auto Shotgun (1600 Credits): A close-range automatic shotgun.
  • Hammer Pump Shotgun (900 Credits): A pump-action shotgun with better damage and range than Frenzy.

SMGs:

  • Thunder Burst SMG (1100 Credits): Close-to-medium range burst-fire SMG.
  • Hyper SMG (1500 Credits): Close-to-medium range automatic SMG.

Rifles:

  • Enforcer AR (2000 Credits): High damage output; slow fire rate; full-auto assault rifle.
  • Nemesis AR (2500 Credits): Full-auto assault rifle, similar to the AK.
  • Striker AR (2500 Credits): Full-auto suppressed assault rifle, similar to the M4.

Ranged:

  • Hand Cannon (800 Credits): A powerful semi-auto pistol that deals massive damage. It also comes with a scope.
  • Reaper Sniper Rifle (5000 Credits): A powerful bolt-action sniper rifle capable of eliminating enemies with a single bullet. It’s also the costliest weapon in the game.

Finally, we have the Ranger Pistol, the default, and the free pistol every player spawns with. It’s a close-range automatic pistol.
