The Latest Character Wish Banners – Xilonen & Chiori

Xilonen

As is the case with every Genshin Impact update, the latest Version 5.1 introduces a new Genshin Impact character to the ever-expanding roster, Xilonen, the ocelot-inspired DJ is an interesting & unique twist the likes we haven’t seen before.

But contrary to her style and mechanics, Xilonen is actually a skilled, no-nonsense blacksmith who takes her craft seriously.

In terms of gameplay, Xilonen is a Geo-element Sword Genshin Impact weapon type user. In a team, Xilonen takes up a Support-focused role that can a lot of value to your team. Particularly, she triggers Elemental RES shred with her skill by a substantial amount.

The best part is, that this Elemental RES shred only ties to her Elemental Skill level so you can build her easier than other Support Genshin Impact characters.

Additionally, she can also heal your Genshin Impact characters which makes her an extremely versatile addition to any team. Whether you need a healer or buffer support, Xilonen can fulfill both duties well, making her a valuable addition to any player’s roster.

Chiori

Next up we have a re-run character banner featuring Chiori who initially released earlier this year in the Version 4.5 update. Chiori is also a Geo-element Sword Genshin Impact weapon user who fulfills a dedicated Sub-DPS role thanks to her focused kit.

Since she can create Geo constructs that deal Geo damage even when off-field, she can fill in a sub-DPS damage dealer role if you’re missing out on a capable Geo character. Though we should mention at best, that Chiori is sub-par and doesn’t add as much value to a team as Xilonen does.

But if you’re a fan of her gameplay or design, she’s a great Genshin character to pull for. Between the two though, we’d prefer Xilonen.

4-Star Characters on the Banner

There are three 4-star Genshin Impact characters included on both limited-time banners in the first phase of the Version 5.1 update –

  • Dori – Dori is a 4-star Electro-element Claymore Genshin Impact weapon user who can be played in the support role.
  • Candace – Candace is a 4-star Hydro-element Polearm weapon user who’s predominantly played in the support role.
  • Collei – Collei is a 4-star Dendor-element Bow weapon user and specializes as a Sub-DPS role.

New Weapons in Genshin Version 5.1

In addition to Xilonen’s debut, we also see a few new Genshin Impact weapons on the Eiptome Invocation Wish banner. This includes the newly introduced Peak Patrol Song sword, the Sturdy Bone sword, the Fruitful Hook claymore, and the Mountain-Bracing Bolt polearm.

Here’s a quick breakdown of each of the new Genshin Impact weapons to see if they’re worth pulling for:

  • Peak Patrol Song (5-star Sword) – After hitting an opponent with a Normal/Plunging attack, grants ‘Ode to Flowers’ to the Genshin weapon equipped. Ode to Flowers increases DEF by 8% and gains a 10% All Elemental DMG bonus for 6 seconds. This effect can stack up to 2 stacks and is triggered once per 0.1 seconds. When reaching 2 stacks or 2nd stack refresh, increases party members All Elemental DMG bonus by 8% based on the equipper’s every 1000 DEF up to a max of 25.6% for 15 seconds.
  • Sturdy Bone (4-star Sword) – 15% decrease for equippers’ Sprint/Alternate Sprint Stamina consumption. After using Sprint/Alternate Sprint, it increases Normal Attack DMG by 16% of ATK stat. The effect expires after triggering 18 times or after 7 seconds.
  • Mountain-Bracing Bolt (4-star Polearm) – 15% decrease in Climbing Stamina consumption and a 12% Elemental Skill DMG increase. After another party member uses an Elemental Skill, the equipper receives a 12% Elemental Skill DMG increase for 8 seconds.
  • Fruitful Hook (4-star Claymore) – Plunging Attack CRIT Rate increased by 16%. When an enemy is hit by a Plunging Attack, increases Normal, Charged, and Plunging Attack DMG by 16% for 10 seconds.

Of all the new Genshin Impact weapons introduced in the Version 5.1 update, Fruitful Hook is the only missing weapon from the current running Epitome Invocation limited-time Genshin weapon banner. We can expect the Claymore to make an appearance in the second phase of the 5.1 update weapon banner.
