1. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Release Schedule
The official release date for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 comes out on October 25, 2024. However, there are many ways to gain early access. The earliest window of when this could happen was a Call of Duty Beta Early Access, which ran from August 30th through September 4, 2024. This phase gave players a chance to play multiplayer modes, check out the new Call of Duty weapons, and of course Zombies before anyone else. Another chance to explore the game followed shortly afterward with the Open Black Ops 6 Beta from September 6th to September 9th, 2024.
Players who pre-ordered Call of Duty: You had to be running Black Ops 6 or subscribed to Xbox Game Pass to be able to participate in these early tests. If you didn’t get in on those phases, but you did play after, you can still catch up before the full Black Ops 6 release.
2. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 New Zealand Method for Early Access
- Here is the New Zealand Method, one of the most popular tricks in order to gain early access to Call of Duty games. If you choose to change your console or PC region to New Zealand, you can play the game approximately hours before it goes live elsewhere across the world. Here’s how it works on different platforms:
Xbox Method
- Go to Call of Duty website, and log in to your Activision account.
- In your “Basic Info” tab, enter a random New Zealand address if you need to and change your location to New Zealand.
- Open Settings on your Xbox console and go to System then select Language and Location. Restart your console from your New Zealand location.
- Once your console reboots, you should be able to access Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 the same time ahead of your local time zone.
PlayStation Method
On PlayStation, you can either follow similar steps to change your region to New Zealand or create a new PlayStation account specifically tied to a New Zealand address. Here are the key methods:
- Go to the Activision website for the Call of Duty and update your region on it.
- Or change the time zone on your PlayStation console – go toSettings > System > Date and Time and select New Zealand.
- You can also register a new PlayStation account from New Zealand, if you prefer, although be warned that you will need to buy the Call of Duty game again from the New Zealand store.
PC Method (via Xbox Game Pass)
PC players using Xbox Game Pass can also take advantage of the New Zealand trick:
- Log into your Activision account and update your location to New Zealand.
- On your PC, go to Settings > Time and Language > Region and change the location to New Zealand.
- Restart your PC and access Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 through Xbox Game Pass with your new region setting.
However, as Steam as well as Battle.net users can’t use this method, in order for the game to be playable early, players from these platforms are locked into their jurisdictions.
Caution: This is a very common way to do things, but the problem with it is that you’ll be connecting to servers in New Zealand from your true location, which means it could be a slow or laggy experience. If and when your region receives the game you can then revert these settings to prevent further problems.
