With the release of Mobile Legends’ latest hero during the 8th Anniversary celebration back in September 2024, Suyou has been the talk of the town for his killer visuals and seemingly phenomenal gameplay.
But is Soyou all he’s really cracked up to be? Is he going to be a key driver in the latest meta? Since his release we’ve had a couple of games with MLBB’s latest hero so today we’re here to break down if Soyou is really worth all the hype.

Suyou the Mask of the Immortal Character Overview

Suyou, known as the Mask of the Immortal is the last descendant of the Excorsists of Nuo and houses an immortal deity within. This is what Mobile Legends grants him his abilities and varied playstyle that allows him to channel the deity into various forms to purge evil.
Realistically speaking though, MLBB Soyou is our resident broody and charismatic heartthrob whose kit and overall design are one of our favorites to release in the Mobile Legends universe in quite a while.
Soyou Role, Lane, & Specialities
Soyou is a hybrid Assassin/Fighter hero who deals Physical damage. For the most part, he’s a Melee-oriented Mobile Legends character but his abilities do allow him to close the distance or attack from range.
Typically, you’ll be playing Soyou as a jungler but he can also excel as an ML EXP laner. Either way, you’ll be stacking up kills whether it’s via Siege Minions or jungle mobs to fatten up and then take on a ganking role.
He can also work as an engager since he has built-in Damage Reduction and health-regen capabilities.
The Mobile Legends character’s specialty is essentially chasing down enemies and unleashing massive burst damage. The good news is through our own experience, he excels at the role making him a great ML hero to invest in with your Twilight Pass.
And with the meta currently favoring dual jungler teams, Soyou fits in perfectly with the current meta making him a devastating enemy to face.
Not only does he have outstanding damage potential, but he’s also beefy enough to be able to sustain himself in a fight. Thanks to the Mobile Legends Assassin/Fighter hybrid role he can handle a lot of the carry duties you’d expect out of this type of MLBB character.
Soyou Abilities Overview
Passive Ability – Transient Immortal

Soyou’s passive ability, Transient Immoral works as a kind of buff depending on whether you tap-cast or hold-cast his skill. Depending on the cast type, he gains a different buff and performs a different action depending on the skill.
In general, though, tap-casting any skill keeps Soyou in his Mortal form gains a +40 movement speed buff, and reduces the interval between his Basic Attacks.
Hold-casting any skill will put Soyou in his Immortal form, which increases Basic Attack damage by 125% and also buffs him with a 20% Damage Reduction. Additionally, when in the Immortal form, Soyou gains a 1% Damage Reduction for every 20 extra Physical Attacks. This buff can reach up to 40% Damage Reduction.
Overall, you’ll want to play Soyou in his Immortal form while chasing or escaping enemies, and once you’re in the fight, get into the Immortal form to deal damage and sustain yourself.
Skill 1 – Blade Surge

Tap-casting the Blade Surge skill will have Soyou throw his weapon in the stated direction to deal 250-330 Physical Damage +100% Extra Physical Attack to enemies within the targeted path. He also blinks to the location and performs an additional slash dealing 375 – 495 Physical Damage +150% Extra Physical Attack.
Hold-casting the Blade Surge skill puts him in the Immortal form and charges towards the targeted direction dealing 250 – 330 Physical Damage +100% Extra Physical Attack. When he hits an enemy hero, he stops and stuns the Mobile Legends hero for 0.6s.
How far the charge distance is determined by how long the skill is held.
Skill 2 – Soul Sever

Tap-casting the Soul Sever skill makes Suyou perform a sweeping attack within a fan-shaped area dealing 300 – 492 Physical Damage plus +200 Extra Physical Attack and +target’s 20% Lost HP.
Hold-casting the Soul Sever skill transforms him to the Immortal form and performs 3 cleave attacks in a fan-shaped area with the first two swings dealing 250 – 410 Physical Damage and +80% Extra Physical Attack each while the last swing deals a more powerful 400 – 656 Physical Damage +128% Extra Physical Attack. The last strike also recovers 150 – 230 +50% Extra Physical Attack for Soyou.
This is Soyou’s bread-and-butter ML skill and should be used in most fights. Holding the skill not only triggers his Damage Reduction buff, but striking an enemy with the last hit also regens his health which not only deals substantial damage but helps him sustain himself to fight longer.
Skill 3 – Evil Queller

Soyou’s last skill, Evil Queller is in place of his Ultimate and is denoted as ‘Skill 3’ instead. This skill has 5 level upgrades and can be leveled up from level 1, unlike standard Ultimates.
Tap-casting the skill has Suyou gliding backward and swinging his weapon MLBB in the aimed direction. This deals 420 – 580 Physical Damage +120% Extra Physical Attack within a rectangular area. This skill also reduces the enemy hero’s Movement Speed by 30% for 1.5s.
Hold-casting the skill has Suyou channel the Immortal’s power and shoot an arrow in the targeted direction. This deals 580 – 800 Physical Damage +165% Extra Physical Attack. Holding down the skill will increase the skill’s range.
Final Verdict – Is Soyou Worth It?
With all this in mind, how does Soyou actually stack up in the game right now? Well, personally speaking, Soyou is a really fun MLBB hero to play with that’s extremely versatile since he can not only deal damage but sustain himself quite well.
This isn’t unique to Soyou, but he does do it exceptionally.
According to the last 30 days, Suyou has a sub-par 48.60% Win rate but ranks 7th with a 30.74% Ban rate. While he isn’t the most consistently picked or has the most ‘OP’ win rate, since Mobile Legends ranks 7th in the Ban rate does show players have trouble against him.
For now, though, it’s still too early to tell how dominant (or underutilized) he’ll be in the meta but we’re hopeful he’ll have staying power long-term. That said, for all your Mobile Legends needs like new accounts, or MLBB redeem code, check out U7BUY!
