pokemon go holiday part 1

What an awesome time to be a fan of Pokemon GO! I mean, the new Dual Destiny season is probably one of the most happening ones. There are a lot of exciting things going on this season, and it sure is overwhelming to catch up with all of them: the comeback of Eggs-pedition access, end-of-the-year Community Day, and whatnot.

But the one I’ve always been most excited about is the Pokemon GO holiday event for this festive season, and the event is now closer than ever. This event will take place in multiple parts, and this article is all about the upcoming Pokemon GO Holiday Part 1.

When Is the Pokemon GO Holiday Part 1 Scheduled?

Part 1 of the Pokemon GO holiday event will kick off on Tuesday, December 17, 2024. The event is going to last until Sunday, December 22, 2024, and will be followed up by holiday part 2.

I believe this 5-day event is more than enough for trainers to take part and have the most fun; after all, there are a lot more events scheduled for later time.

What’s New in Pokemon GO Holiday Part 1?

Pokemon GO Holiday Part 1

What’s so awesome about the holiday event, you ask? Well, there are many; how about a costumed Pokemon debut for starters?

Dedenne with iconic holiday attire will be debuting during this event. If you’re lucky enough, you might encounter a shiny variant too.

A shiny version of Sandygast will also be debuting during this time; the normal variants of both these Pokemon are a part of the game already.

Dedenne, along with Sandygast, as shown in the picture, seems to be the mascot Pokemon for this event; you see them all over Pokemon GO’s social media and other platforms.

New Wild Encounters

Love exploring around the world in search of wild Pokemon? Well, I hope you’re ready to encounter these Pokemon more often than others.

Pokemon GO Holiday Part 1: Special Event Bonuses

  • Double the XP for catching a Pokemon and
  • Half the time for eggs to hatch in an incubator

During the event, any Pokemon you catch will give you 2x the amount of XP. More importantly, hatching your eggs just got faster. The amount of time taken for an egg to hatch in an incubator is reduced to half. (during the event only)

Pokemon GO Holiday Part 1: Special Tasks and Rewards

This festive season, you will be getting event-based tasks—and completing these tasks will allow you to encounter event-themed Pokemon.

The Paid Timed Research is another event-exclusive experience that players are going to love. For just as little as 2$, or equivalent to your country’s currency, you will be able to access it.

Finishing these event-exclusive Timed Research tasks will grant you amazing rewards, such as:

  • Two Premium Battle passes
  • 1x Incubator
  • 1500 Stardust and
  • Encounters with event-themed Pokemon

Important Note: All the rewards you earn through this event must be claimed before 27th December 2024.

You will also encounter other special event-themed collection challenges that reward you with PokeBalls, Greatballs, and Stardust.

How to Get the Most Out of Pokemon GO: Holiday Part 1?

A lot of great things have come together at the same time in Pokemon GO—golden times like this are very rare to happen. But when they do, you must get the most out of them, and here is how:

1. Make sure to log in and play every day during the event. Do not miss out on the awesome bonuses and special events.

2. Get the Paid Timed Research if you can afford it: Since the cost is converted to every player’s local currency, they can purchase this event-exclusive access for dirt cheap and get the best value for money in return.

3. Get ready for awesome deals on the Pokemon GO Web Store. Is it a must for a player to spend money to have fun in Pokemon GO? Not really, but doing so will give you tons of goodies, giving you a better experience.

Now is not the time for the f2p vs. p2p debate, but if a player can afford to, they can purchase the Ultra Holiday Box for $4.99 or the Holiday Part 1 Ultra Ticket Box for $6.99.

I suggest you get the $6.99 one; this includes tickets for both the holiday events, i.e., parts 1& 2, and also grants you a bonus battle pass at no extra cost.

Conclusion

This holiday is all about encountering event-based Pokemon and eagerly waiting to encounter and catch Shiny ones.

You can enter event-based Pokemon at the Showcases and get Stardust and XP in return; do try it out.
