With the critically acclaimed Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 coming to a close with its final regular Season update, Season 6, The Haunting, before transitioning over to the next saga in the franchise, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 later this month, we’ve got a lot to disseminate before moving forward.
By now you’ve probably already been in the thick of Season 6 in Call of Duty MW3 grinding out the last Battle Pass to catch the Micheal Myers skin, the latest BlackCell Season 6 rewards, Call of Duty weapon Blueprints, and more.
The good Call of Duty news is you’ve still got time before the COD Season 6 ends so today, we’re checking out everything you need to know about MW3’s last season from the end date, any potential future seasons, and more info about transitioning to the brand new Black Ops 6.

MW3 Season 6 End Date; In-Game Events, Ranked Play & Battle Pass

Season 6 The Haunting went live in Modern Warfare 3 on September 17th, 2024, and will be available until November 6th, 2024. This means that most COD Season 6 content will still be available after the October 25th release date for Black Ops 6. This includes the Battle Pass so you still have time to grind out all the levels before Call of Duty Season 6 ends.
However, the caveat is the Modern Warfare 3 Ranked Play and the current Halloween event game modes and rewards will end soon, slated to go offline on October 17th, 2024 before the launch of Black Ops 6 later this month.
What all this translates to for players is you still have time to complete the latest Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 Battle Pass in its entirety to gain all the accompanying rewards but if you’ve yet to finish Ranked Play tasks to gain those rewards or any of the Halloween-exclusive COD MW3 events, you’re out of luck if you don’t play them by October 17th.
Considering that the new Black Ops 6 is almost here, Activision doesn’t want players to stay solely on Modern Warfare 3 and eventually transition to Black Ops 6 for all their Call of Duty activities.
And since this Modern Warfare 3 season’s content feels incredibly shorter than usual seasonal content, it’s got players confused and a little agitated but unfortunately for fans of the Modern Warfare series, it’s a hard pill they have to swallow in anticipation of the future of Call of Duty titles.
Will There Be Another Season of Modern Warfare 3?

That said, another topic on the mind of Call of Duty players is whether they can expect any new seasonal content for Modern Warfare 3 after Season 6. The bad news is no, currently, we do not have any information indicating a new Season past Season 6.
This means we aren’t expecting any new Season 7 content for the foreseeable future but with some downtime between October 17th’s end of a majority of COD Season 6 content and October 25th’s release of Black Ops 6, we might see a mid-season update to tide players over before the new title launches.
For now, though, we still do not have any word on whether we will be receiving a mid-season update. In all likelihood, however, we’re probably not going to see any new major seasonal content updates for Modern Warfare 3 past this latest season.
Can You Still Play MW3 After Black Ops 6 Releases?
But fret not fellow Call of Duty fanatics, while Black Ops 6 will be Activision’s prized poodle for a while, players will still be able to play and login to MW3 in case you favor the game’s mechanics over Black Ops 6’s attention to insane movements & agility.
You’ll also still have access to all the rewards you’ve earned from past Modern Warfare titles in Modern Warfare 3 so all your COD MW3 skins, weapon blueprints, leveled-up weapons, and cosmetics can still be used.
Many players are still going to be playing Modern Warfare 3, as history shows that even with the release of a new Call of Duty title, players don’t completely forgo past titles in favor of the latest shiny version.
The main difference is you probably won’t be seeing any new seasonal content as we have in the past but servers will still be online for you to play on.
Does All Your MW3 Stuff Transfer to Black Ops 6?
Another pain point many players are wondering about is if their Modern Warfare weapons and COD MW3 skins will transfer over to the newly released Black Ops 6. And if you missed the announcement back in June earlier this year, you might be out of the loop.
Unfortunately, Modern Warfare II and Modern Warfare III content will not carry over to the new Black Ops 6 title in the ‘Premium experience’ as highlighted in their blog post.
This means all the Operator Call of Duty Modern Warfare skins, weapon Blueprints, and other items from past Modern Warfare titles will not follow the previous cross-title integration and you’ll need to start afresh in Black Ops 6.
However, the only exception is Call of Duty: Warzone where all your stuff from the Modern Warfare series will carry forward to the Black Ops 6 version of the game mode.
This is truly unfortunate since all your hard work is going back to 0 but considering that Black Ops 6 is quite different from the previous Modern Warfare series, it’s to be expected. Luckily, you’ll still be able to access all your loot in Warzone and Modern Warfare 3 if you so choose.
That said, if you’re going to be in MW3 for a while even with Black Ops 6’s release, U7BUY still offers COD points price MW3 if you need to catch up on Season 6 content before it goes offline.
