On October 15, 2025, Zenless Zone Zero’s 2.3 version update finally went live. It introduced many new gameplay events, quests, updates, and fixed known bugs.

However, the debut of three new playable characters, namely, Lucia, Yidhari, and Manato, took the spotlight. These new ZZZ characters are currently hot-trending, giving players the perfect opportunity to try out some of the best Zenless Zone Zero top-ups. With that said, in this article, we tell you all you need to know about Zenless Zone Zero’s new characters.
Zenless Zone Zero Lucia

Zenless Zone Zero Lucia debuted in Phase 1 of Version 2.3, on a limited banner which is currently ongoing, running from October 15 to November 5, 2025. So if you’re aiming for her, this is the first window where she’s available. If this is your first time experiencing the action ARPG, then we recommend starting out with boosted Zenless Zone Zero accounts to get a head start and enjoy the game to the fullest!
Who Is Lucia?
Lucia is an S-Rank Ether support from the Spook Faction who shines in squads that want steady buffs and smooth rotations, like in a group of Rupture agents. The in-game lore paints her as an enthusiast of the Ethereals, those mysterious entities that roam the Hollows in the game.
In terms of appearance, she has small goat-like horns and pointy ears, and carries with her a big book called the “encyclopedia of Ethereals”, and uses a staff in combat. As such, her kit focuses on boosting team damage and keeping everyone safe, letting your main DPS pop off while she sets the pace.
ZZZ Lucia in Combat
In the game, her signature mechanic is the Dream State. You see, as Lucia builds Dream Points (through her basic attacks, special attacks, etc.), she triggers Ether Veil: Wellspring upon reaching 100 Dream Points, which increases the Max HP of all party members by 5%. That’s especially strong for Rupture agents whose damage often leans on HP.
In addition, her Harmony attacks are also very attractive. In that, she grants the entire squad the Darkbreaker status (Sheer Force buff) that scales with her initial Max HP and can cap at very high values.
Is Lucia the Right Fit for You?
What I mean by all this is that if you want Lucia in your lineup, you would want her Dream State up as often as possible, build her Max HP high, and pair her with strong Rupture DPS (like Yixuan or Manato) who can leverage those buffs hard. Outside of a Rupture-focused team, she still works, but won’t pull ahead like she does in her niche.
Zenless Zone Zero Yidhari

Unlike Lucia and Manato, Zenless Zone Zero Yidhari is scheduled for Phase 2 of the Version 2.3 update. It will start on November 5, 2025, just after Phase 1 concludes, and run until November 25, 2025. Make sure to mark your calendars if you’re eyeing her.
Who is Yidhari?
Yidhari is an S-Rank Rupture Agent with the Ice attribute and belongs to the “Spook Shack” faction. Reports from leaks and datamines suggest that she’s an “Octopus Thiren” (yes, that means tentacles and stuff!), and she brings a twist on the Rupture playstyle by heavily involving HP management and sheer damage.
ZZZ Yidhari in Combat
In ZZZ, Yidhari comes into play with two main mechanics: she consumes and manipulates her own HP to power her attacks, and her basic attacks and charged hammer strikes are designed to deal massive Ice damage based on her HP and charging level. There’s also an EX Special “Glacial Crush” which not only hits hard, but restores missing HP afterwards. This shows she has built-in self-sustaining combat mechanics.
Is Yidhari the Right Fit for You?
Because of these traits, she’s the perfect agent for players who fearlessly trade HP for burst damage. Since this is not my playstyle, I’m better off here, but I’m sure some of you aggressive players would like to have her on your team.
Yidhari is the only Zenless Zeon Zero new character that hasn’t launched as of writing this guide. That’s why finer details like drive discs, optimal team comps, and W-Engines remain unconfirmed.
However, you can use this opportunity to prep in advance and gather your resources ahead of the Phase 2 launch, so when the Yidhari banner goes live, you can get a head start on other players.
Zenless Zone Zero Manato

Who is Manato?
When you look at the Zenless Zone Zero new characters lineup, Manato is a very interesting pick. He’s an A-rank Fire Rupture Agent, which means he works by breaking through enemy defenses and relies on the unique Rupture class mechanics rather than the usual Attack stat.
In the game, Manato is portrayed as a sturdy canine Thiren, loyal, protective, and with strong ties to the community of Failume Heights. He belongs to the same faction as Lucia and Yidhari (Spook Shack), which means there’s thematic and roster synergy potential if you’re building around that faction.
ZZZ Manto in Combat
His gameplay revolves around HP consumption, where he trades his own Max HP to fire off enhanced Basic Attacks, Assist Follow-Ups, and enter his special state called Molten Edge. In this state (activated when his Blazing Heart meter hits 75+), he gains +10% Crit Rate, +20% Fire DMG, and full access to his enhanced attacks.
The core of Manato’s damage comes from Sheer Force, a Rupture-class stat that lets him ignore enemy defenses entirely. For him, 10% of Max HP (plus 30% ATK) converts into Sheer Force, meaning stacking HP is actually a key part of his damage profile.
Is Manato the Right Fit for You?
As seen above, it’s safe to say that Manato is built for aggressive, in-your-face combat that trades HP for big damage. So if you like high risk, high reward, this guy is your jam. And to top it all off, he pairs especially well with supports like Lucia, who boosts HP-based Rupture agents.
Also, unlike Lucia and Yidhari, Zenless Zone Zero Manato is free to claim. You don’t need to spend any in-game resources, which is great. All you need to do is complete the new main story mission, “Dreamless Requiem,” which was introduced in the game with the version 2.3 update.
To Wrap It Up
And that’s all there is to Zenless Zone Zero’s new characters. What do you think about these new agents? Personally, I would snag the free-pick Manato asap because who can resist a solid support unit at no cost? After that, Lucia’s definitely worth aiming for if you’re building a well-rounded team.
